What a beautiful weekend we just had here in the Mohawk Valley. I got to go out for a little while Saturday to roam around downtown Schenectady and about an hour at lock 8 on the Mohawk with my new SONY Alpha 900. So far I’ve got nothing but Kudos for SONY for what they’ve put into this camera. At the top of my list is “Intelligent Preview” where the camera brings up a preview of the picture to be taken on the LCD complete with histograms. The user (me) can then adjust Exposure compensation, D-Range, white balance and depth of field to get the shot as it should be before creating the file. Here’s a sample of before and after the “Intelligent Preview” was used.
The first picture was shot with all settings at center, aperture priority with the aperture set at f11. The second shot was after using Intelligent Preview. I didn’t have to make any adjustments in the computer to get the pictures as I wanted them. It’s almost like making RAW adjustments in the camera.
