New From Nikon

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Yesterday Nikon announced the D5000 digital SLR. We haven’t seen one up close and personal yet but the specs on it look pretty sweet. The camera is built around a 12.3 megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor coupled with Nikon’s EXPEED image processing. That makes this model a light version of the Nikon D90 which in turn is a lightweight version of the Nikon D300. At 1 lb. 4 oz. (without battery or lens) the D5000 will make for a lightweight, accurate and easy to use camera for anyone just starting out in digital photography up to a seasoned photographer who wants something lightweight without dropping to the point and shoot line of cameras.
